Class Policy

Please read carefully our Call Policies carefully and acknowledge that you understand them by clicking yes on the first question:

Process vs. Product:
At Wash Arts we are dedicated to our students learning and working collaboratively, developing critical thinking skills and working toward a common goal, which may not always be a final product. Ceramics projects may not be available for pick up until the final class session due to drying, and firing schedules and how they integrate in through all of our programs. However, most classes do have one or more “take home” projects by the end of the session.

Student Artwork and Belongings:
Personal belongings and artwork left behind at the conclusion of camp are collected and kept in the lost and found area. Wash Arts reserves the right to discard artwork two weeks after the conclusion of class.

Please leave toys, MP3s and other valuables at home. Cell phones may be used in emergencies but must be kept on silent during classes, whether you are a child or an adult.

Cancellation Policy:
In the event of an unexpected closure or weather emergency, please check www.washarts.org or our facebook page at www.facebook.com/Washartscommunity

In the event of inclement weather, families will be emailed with twelve hours notice before the beginning of class. If the decision for a closure must be made with less than 12 hours notice, families will be emailed and the office staff will attempt to contact each family by phone. An additional session will be added to the end of the term as a make-up day. There will be no additional time during the term offered as “make up time” and no refunds offered due to weather cancellation.

Communications:
Wash Arts communicates primarily through email. Please make sure to update your email information if it changes. Please use care when typing your email address in the registration form. If you do not have access to the Internet on a regular basis type “NO EMAIL”. Occasionally our correspondence may get sent to your SPAM folder. You will receive an automatic email confirmation at the time of registration, if you do not, please verify that your email address is correct by emailing washartsclasses@gmail.com

On the second day and thereafter, students can be signed in and will wait at the front desk area to walk to the studio/classroom with the Instructor.

Sign-out:
Students will be waiting to be signed out in their studio classrooms. Adults signing students
out from camp must be listed on the student’s authorization form and must be prepared to show photo ID if asked. Children may not, under any circumstances, be left unattended at Wash Arts.
